When Alabama-based designer Billy Reid won the 2010 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award on Monday, he took home $300,000–that’s $100,000 more than last year’s winner, Sophie Theallet. With opportunities like this, it seems like fashion design is the way to go! Props should go to New York City also for creating such an amenable environment for young designers. Also, congratulations to Prabal Gurung and Eddie Borgo, who both took home $100,000!
