It’s hard to find new & exciting menswear from your couch, so it’s on the road I go… and bring you this dispatch from Paris. French label The Kooples may be a young and emerging brand, but they’re blazing a formidable trail with curated corners at the likes of Galeries Lafayette and BHV Hommes as well as their own branded stores. In fact their website maps you to locations in almost every arrondisement of Paris.

The label does both men’s and women’s collections, and have them so seamlessly integrated that seeing them merchandised together in-store makes total sense. This symmetry also lends itself to their recent campaign, featuring real life couples (or kooples, as it were) wearing pieces from the line.

It’s all a very clever way to ensure both men and women will feel comfortable shopping the stores. And the rocker-writer-artist-skaterboarder-urban chic look of each couple really helps to keep the aesthetic of the brand tightly aligned to their core consumer.
On the men’s side, the military inspiration runs throughout, with good result. The well tailored pieces have a good fit and are perfect for city living. They are also all softly priced, so you won’t mind when a friend steals your new favorite double breasted coat.

The Kooples recently launched stores in the UK and also offer online shopping (as well as a cool blog run by… you guessed it… a real life couple).
