Just the other day I remarked to myself how few women designers there are out there who design mens collections. This thought of mine occurred to me before I came across the label Martine Rose, which made its runway debut in this year’s MAN show at London Fashion Week. And yes, the designer behind the eponymous label is a girl.
For her sixth collection, Rose perfectly surmised the ethos of the Fall-Winter season by exploring new fabrics and constructions. The young designer used what appeared to be industrially recycled composite fabrics to create a cozy-looking sweater and trench. Another material that made an appearance was gold foil, which Rose used to embellish the torso.
