For Fall, the Melbourne-based label Amber and Thomas, designed by Amber Hourigan and produced by Thomas Williams, debuted a collection inspired by America’s western desert. The duo incorporated their inspiration into the color, fabric and construction of the collection by using natural, earthy colors, durable fabrics like wool, leather and heavy silk, and simple and clean lines.
And it’s Amber and Thomas’ simple and clean aesthetic that is most noteworthy, for it stands out among so many collections that attempt the impractical and unwearable. In May, Amber and Thomas will debut their Spring 2012 collection at Sydney’s Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, so keep an eye out for these clean cuts.
