Derek Lam’s Fall 2011 collection was largely traditional. Most of the looks could easily attain a broad appeal and even more easily go directly from runway to retail. But there were a few look in the collection that departed from the more traditional silhouettes. This dress is one of them, and it’s probably one of my favorite looks from the Fall collections. I love the simple cut of the black leather top and how it gives way to the flowing full-length skirt.
