Alexander McQueen`s mastery reaches beyond the scope of contemporary human understanding and imagination. His star shines among those who have embodied the most pure creative spirit of the time, elevating fashion to new heights where art merged with nature into extraordinary sartorial shapes. He transformed the human body into a sophisticated expression of his dark, tortuous, sensual yet graceful vision.
Savage Beauty, the exhibit which opened at The Metropolitan Museum in New York today, pays tribute to the Master with an outstanding collection spanning from his graduation “Jack the Ripper Stalks His Victims” jacket that the late Isabella Blows bought in 1992, to the romantic “The Girl Who Lived in the Tree” collection along with his most iconic outfits and accessories, all on view in one of the utmost inspiring exhibits held at the Met Museum in a long time.
Along with the outfits, it is also an installation showing the Kate Moss hologram video from 2006 projected into the middle of a glass pyramid, yet another creation of the timeless spirit of this unique designer.
“You`ve got to know the rules to break them. That`s what I`m here for, to demolish the rules but to keep the tradition.”
