Logan Neitzel Celebrates the Modern Woman

Logan Neitzel stays true to his rustic yet fashionable roots in his latest work. His Spring line, like much of his clothing, was inspired by what I would like to think of as the future of femininity—women with the proper combination of elegance and strength, sort of like a more kick-ass version of Carrie Bradshaw.

Having grown up in Idaho bucking hay, Neitzel is no stranger to arduous work with his hands. He incorporates this quality into his pieces, which, despite their first appearance of being proper and neat, often end with rugged, coarse edges. Neitzel actually burned out holes into one of my favorite dresses from the show, adding his signature, rough touch to what would otherwise be a fairly clean-cut, short dress.

However, Neitzel toughens up his ladies not only through alterations of the otherwise classically feminine dresses, but by pairing these dresses with garments he creates with his undeniably remarkable skill with leather. By draping these black or white leather garments over otherwise modest dresses, often in hues of soft greens or creamy whites, Neitzel bulks up the general “atmosphere” of his looks, transforming a shy girly-girl into a fearless vixen.

Overall, Neitzel’s latest works boast of possibility, allowing girls to sport either a pretty dress to work or a rad, edgy look for a night out on the town. In this versatility, the designer has captured both the essence and the needs of the modern day woman. She can now dress up or dress down, as long as the dress is Neitzel.
