Student in Front of Bunka Fashion College
We recently visited Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo, One of the worlds top fashion design institutions where the likes of Yohji Yamamoto, Kenzo, Nigo of Bathing Ape, Atsuro Tayama and Junko Koshino all trained studying the Bunka method of fusing Japanese heritage, sustainability with modern creative techniques. Many of the students attending Bunka are international making this a true global player in the education of new fashion talent.
wonderMode was lucky enough to get a tour of their incredible facilities such as the costume & fabric library, the Bunka Gakuen Museum, high tech sewing facilities and the research department where robotic like machines are used to determine the effects human body temperature/weather have on fabrics.
Being a fashion site, we checked out what the students were wearing and below you can see some innovative fashion statements from the next wave in global fashion talent!
