During the madness that we New Yorkers call Fashion Week, I had the opportunity to view the Porter Grey presentation of its Fall/Winter 2012 collection at Lincoln Center, NYC’s home to the star-studded Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. This season’s collection featured a crisp, cohesive commonality of mauve, navy, and dandelion gold in autumnal prints and metallics.
The interesting combination of menswear-inspired silhouettes — the tailored overcoats, the slim trousers, and the metallic brogues — with the girlish dresses and Peter Pan blouses rendered a clean, tailored look throughout the entirety of the collection.
One refreshing detail that did not go unnoticed — the shoes! These shiny-toed brogues were paired with granny socks to complete the urban-prep vibe of the collection. Loved it.
